Abstract

Nowadays, the era of disruption-era which demanded a massive revolution in various lines of life - made humans inevitably have to be prepared for all the possibilities of work that could originally have been done simply by humans now demanding high effectiveness, so at the same time sometimes human abilities and skills are replaced by digital devices. The teacher who originally taught conventionally is now beginning to utilize internet tools to support learning effectiveness. In the realm of religion, one can now easily find religious lectures on various social media, such as YouTube and Instagram. In the pesantren discourse, the term santri which was originally identified with an ancient and outdated person, due to the influence of the digital era has now shifted its epistemology. Santri who were once known as unfamiliar with technological developments and only good at studying Islamic science through the study of classic books, now the broader spectrum can even compete with non-santri students. One of the representations of the santri who had been aware of the rapid development of the effects of this disruption era is AIS Nusantara community. Via Instagram social media, this community disseminates Islamic contents especially which are related to Pesantren with methods that are adaptive to the current situation. Departing from the phenomenon of santri's epistemology shift and the challenges it faces today, this paper tries to trace the historical developments from time to time and the potential found in.
