Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is very vulnerable to natural disasters. Disaster is a series of events that threaten and disrupt the lives and livelihoods of people caused by natural factors, non-natural factors, and human factors, causing human casualties, environmental damage, property losses, and psychological impacts. For individuals who have high resilience, of course they can deal with these conditions well. But not everyone is able to deal with this condition, because there are also those who experience post-disaster trauma. Trauma is characterized by a sensitive stimulus that resembles the original event, experiencing physical pain (psychosomatic), and causes individuals to experience disturbed daily life. With this condition, someone needs a gift of assistance called traumatic counseling. Traumatic counseling is an attempt by counselors to help counselees who experience trauma through a personal relationship process so that clients can understand themselves in connection with the trauma problems they experience and try to overcome them as well as possible. With this effort, it is expected to increase the resilience of victims of natural disasters, namely conditions where they are able to cope with and adapt to severe events that are created in life due to natural disasters so as not to cause deep trauma in the future.
