Abstract

The purpose of this article examines the development of positive mental attitude for Generation Z which is one of the challenges of attitudes and professionalism for today's counselors. This article uses the type of literature research, methods of collecting data through documentation, with analytical techniques using data reduction and drawing conclusion. The result and discussion that a person is classified as having appositive mental attitude if they have: happy feelings and satisfaction in living life, enthusiasm in living life, vitality (elan vital), ability to realize oneself, flexibility, feelings about life balance, feelings about the integrity of life-views (well-roundedness), attention to oneself and others, self-confidence and good self-assessment. The important characteristics in the personal-social guidance and counseling program, namely: comprehensive in scope, preventive in design, developmental in nature, integral part of the total educational program, design and delivery systems, implemented by a state-cridentialed school counselor, conducted in collaboration, monitor student progress, driven by data, improvement, and share successes through group guidance strategies.
