Abstract

Islamic boarding schools as pro-people or pro-society Islamic education institutions should
empower the community not only in terms of ukhrawi (spiritual) but also worldly things
such as entrepreneurship, community-based pesantren agribusiness and so on. The role of
pesantren in terms of empowerment by increasing the economic level of the community
through entrepreneurship-based pesantren curriculum. The 1.5 hectare SabilalMuttaqin
Islamic Boarding School located in TelukKiambang Village, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau
Province is among a number of Islamic boarding schools which provide entrepreneurial skills
to santri-santrinya besides teaching the knowledge of Religion and general science. The
newly established Islamic boarding school is able to cultivate and develop chili plantations.
The chili plantation that was built by the Islamic Boarding School of SabilalMuttaqin turned
out to be able to produce extraordinary chili. On a land of around 500 meters, the Islamic
boarding school develops 500 meters of chili cultivation, approximately 2,000 stems. if the
harvest is normal for 2000 sticks, it will usually produce 200 kg per week at a price of Rp.
40,000 per hectare to produce an income of Rp. 8,000,000 per harvest. The world of
entrepreneurship is one aspect that can help to survive in this era. It becomes a necessity if
all parties learn anything that can help prepare superior resources in the world of
