CHARACTER VALUES IN THE TRADITION OF THE GIRIPURWO VILLAGEANNIVERSARY CULTURAL CARNIVAL THROUGH THE ABCD APPROACH IN GIRIPURWO VILLAGE, PURWOSARI DISTRICT, GUNUNG KIDUL

Abstract

This paper raises the tradition of cultural carnival in Giripurwo Village which is one of the independent cultural villages in the Special Region Province of Yogyakarta. This tradition is one of the traditions that is highly anticipated because the cultural carnival is an activity that requires a lot of residents to participate in it. In this study, we as researchers use a qualitative approach by researching directly during the activity. The content of this article will discuss the form of the Giripurwo Village Anniversary Cultural Carnival, the character values contained in the tradition of the Cultural Carnival, and also efforts to continue to preserve this culture. The results of this research lead to this tradition becoming a foundation that needs to be preserved for the reason of the high character value that can be obtained by participating in the Giripurwo anniversary cultural carnival
