Abstract
Early childhood stimulation from birth is obtained from parents, closest family and environment. Among-among as one of the Javanese traditional thanksgiving traditions, besides having a ritualistic meaning, also provides a deep meaning in stimulating the development of early childhood. This study aims to explore and examine the among-among tradition as part of the way of parenting Javanese parents in Bandung Kebumen hamlet in stimulating early childhood development. This research is a study of parenting phenomenology with qualitative descriptive analysis. Data were taken through in-depth observations, interviews with leaders and the public and analyzed with various supporting theories from book and article sources. The results showed that the Javanese Among-among tradition stimulated early childhood on aspects of religious and moral values, language, intellectual, physical and motoric health, social emotional skills and the character of cultural love.
