Scripture Text in Motion, Expression and Motion: Unreavealing the Quranic Receptions and Hadith in the Islamic Inspirational movie Cinta Subuh

Abstract

Cinta Subuh 1, 2 and 3 is an Islamic inspirational film on YouTube that successfully combines market, popular culture and Islamic nuances played by the actors and actresses. There are many studies about the film. However, there seems to be an interesting thing missing from the study of experts, namely the existence of hadiths and Qur'anic verses which are presented at each session. This indicates that there is a reception process that appears in almost all of the grooves and scenes. The question is then, what is the form of the reception and what are the implications? By using content analysis, this study shows that there are at least two forms of receptions displayed in the film, namely: first, exegesis receptions as seen from how later Ratih chose to break ties (courtship) with Angga under the pretext of being contrary to the teachings of Religion (dating with adultery) means contrary to Surah al-Isra ': 32). Secondly, functional receptions are how the texts of Religion with the form as a film become one of the ways to gain 'profit.' Functional reception in this context is different from the functional which usually occurs in the past, especially in the time of the Prophet and his companions, namely that the verses of the Koran , for example, used to heal and so on.
