Abstract
The journey of Western scholarship in the study of the Qur'an has begun since the fall of the Crusade in the 11th century H. The religious relations between Islam and Christianity automatically have a distance. This can be seen from the response of Muslims to the academic activities undertaken by Western scholarship which is interpreted as a form of the rationing of Islamic names. The view still has a place in today's modern life. McAuliffe has a view in that it is oriented towards creating harmony between the religions. Thus, in this article will be discussed his views on Islamic and Christian relations based on his work Qur'anic Christians: An Analysis of Classical and Modern Exegesis to reduce distances and appreciate diversity. The discussion of the authors was needed to be done in the Post-Truth era which is well known and used by the community especially academics. McAuliffe's view of the theme is generally aimed at creating peace from both sides. The things that have been briefly mentioned above need to be stepped up and from deeper as one of the efforts to donate the achievement of peace in the world.
