Abstract

The regional parenting pattern implemented in Talang Bandung Kiri Village, Lubuklinggau City, is an authoritarian parenting pattern and tends to use physical and verbal violence and forms Melalak behavior. Even though some people actually do not know the types of parenting patterns and systems used by the community for the development of children. Physical violence, namely beatings of children is something that is common for some people. This causes violence against fellow children can also occur. For some people, children are the full rights of parents, so parents can at will in educating their children without paying attention to the rights of children. The contributing factor is the low income of parents and the level of education of parents. This has an impact on the child's socio-emotional development. Therefore, parents must know the parenting they apply and the impact that will be received by this which shapes the child into a Melalak person. Melalak behavior is an attitude that is not commendable, melalak is a behavior that feels the best, good by comparing yourself with others. Melalak is an attitude that does not respect others and likes to belittle others. Melalak behavior is not very good in children's social development, this is what happened in the Talang Bandung Left Village, Lubuklinggau City.
