Peran Ethnoparenting Dalam Menanamkan Nilai Kesopanan Pada Anak Usia Dini

Abstract

Having children who are polite and obedient to their parents is a gift for parents at this time, but seeing the number of cases related to child disrespect to parents such as fighting, yelling and even physical violence, away is still needed to reduce these actions. One of them is using the ethnoparenting method for children, ethnoparenting can be understood as to how parenting of children is based on culture, tradition, or values ??that exist in the community around the child. This article aims to determine the role of ethnoparenting in instilling the value of politeness in early childhood, using qualitative research methods that will describe the role of ethnoparenting used in Malay tribal families in Riau Province, Indragiri Hilir Regency. Analysis of the data in this study using data analysis of Miles and Huberman, where data collected from interviews will be reduced and conclusions are drawn, data collection techniques in this study are through interviews with Malay tribal families. The results of this study conclude that the role of ethnoparenting in instilling the values ??of politeness in children can be seen from how parents apply an exemplary method called tunjuk behavior, a method of advice called abstinence, habituation methods, storytelling methods, attention and supervision, punishments and rewards. . Politeness is related to behavior so that it is necessary to develop children through the implementation of parents who will be the foundation for their further development. Because the implementation of education is not only to educate children in terms of intellectual or cognitive but also to educate children emotionally so that they have polite behavior and good speech under community expectations.
