Abstract

The Javanese philosophy of life was born from Javanese culture and is used as a pattern of daily life. Currently, Indonesian society is experiencing moral decadence, indicating the disappearance of the nation's noble culture where the younger generation loses their identity. Parenting patterns in educating children today undergo major changes according to technological developments. Therefore, a critical and selective attitude towards technology must continue to be developed. The culture and noble values of the nation must still be taught to children by the family. In the context of the Javanese, the behavior, traits, and personality of parents are passed down to their children. Therefore, the culture of isin (shame to commit reprehensible conduct), sungkan (reluctance because of courtesy), and mutual respect must continue to be instilled in children's souls.
