Abstract

In the view of all religions including Islam, encourage to respect and love one another toward God's creatures. However, in reality, not everyone can internalize the noble values ​​contained in religion. There are still persons with disabilities who often experience discrimination in public spaces. This makes people with disabilities experience various obstacles and difficulties to fully participate in the dynamics of their lives. The purpose of this research is to find out how the concept of equality and justice is offered by Islam through the holy book of the Qur'an, especially concerning disabilities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. In collecting primary data on scientific work, the researcher conducted observations and interviews, then for secondary data the researcher conducted a literature investigation by examining interpretations, books, and journals related to this research. Data analysis techniques researchers use hermeneutic techniques in processing the information that has been obtained. The results of this study indicate that in the Al-Qur’an there are verses that explain the value of equality and social and cultural justice in society. One of them is the values ​​contained in the surah Al-Hujurat: 13, the concept of "Lita'arafu" in this surah provides an understanding that knowing each other is the best step in avoiding prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination against persons with disabilities.
