Abstract

When we talk about mental health from a spiritual perspective, there's usually a debate that reflects stereotypes. Public reactions include spiritual concerns that have no relevance to perpetrators of mental disorders, as well as the view that perpetrators of mental disturbances need to improve their spirituality. Faced with situations like this, it takes an effort to give the public an understanding of the relationship between spirituality and psychology. The research method used is the qualitative-descriptive method. This article refers to perspectives related to the influence of spirituality as well as psychology on mental health and explores, namely: first, how to apply spirituality in the mental disorder treatment system. Second, how public stigma is linked to the contradiction of spirituality treatment in mental disorders. There are several factors to consider in this discussion, including religious perspectives, social norms, and mental health practices. However, when viewed in context, public opinion exposure leads to negative stigma due to the contradiction of several aspects involving religious perspectives, social norms, and mental health practices. Thus, it is important to have an in-depth understanding of responding to relevant mental health issues to support individuals in taking care of their mental health
