Historiography of organizations or communities, especially organizations dedicated to disabilities, is rarely written by historians. The historical study of the Dutch Association for Autism in the Netherlands, namely Nederlandse Vereniging voor Autism (NVA), is an important study to show how disability organization survives for humanitarian purposes. The research aims to reveal the history, participation, and movement carried out by NVA in educating the public about Autism since 1978 in Netherlands. This study uses historical methods, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results of the research concluded that NVA has an active role in providing education to parents, family members, and caregivers about autism behavior. NVA has also consistently conducted campaigns the children with autism to get good physical, spiritual and care development. In addition, NVA focuses on developing various research on autism. This research is expected to encourage the writing of organizational histories that inspire future generations.
