About the Conference

IDACON, the International Da’wah Conference, is an annual international conference organized by the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication (FDK), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The conference serves as an academic and professional forum for discussing contemporary developments in da’wah, communication, and socio-religious issues in a rapidly changing global context.

IDACON brings together scholars, researchers, practitioners, students, and changemakers from various countries to exchange ideas, present research findings, and explore innovative approaches to da’wah and communication. The conference highlights the need for da’wah to respond creatively and constructively to modern challenges, including social transformation, digital communication, inclusivity, humanitarian concerns, religious moderation, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Since the 8th IDACON, the conference has consistently published the IDACON Proceedings, strengthening its position as an international academic venue. The proceedings provide a formal platform for documenting, disseminating, and developing scholarly contributions presented at the conference. This publication initiative has further enhanced IDACON’s academic visibility and reinforced its role as a space for interdisciplinary exchange on da’wah, communication, and contemporary socio-religious issues.

Through this conference, the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication seeks to strengthen international academic collaboration, promote interdisciplinary dialogue, and encourage practical contributions to society. IDACON is not only a space for scholarly discussion, but also a platform for developing relevant, ethical, and transformative models of da’wah for the contemporary world.
