 CALL FOR PAPERS

The 10th International Da’wah Conference (IDACON) 2026

“Da’wah, Humanity, and Global Coexistence: Repositioning Religion in a Fragmented World”

Conference Date: 30 September 2026

The Faculty of Da’wah and Communication (FDK) at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta, Indonesia warmly invites scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students to submit papers for the 10th International Da’wah Conference (IDACON) 2026.

The conference highlights the urgent need to reposition religion in an increasingly fragmented world, where da’wah serves not merely as a discourse, but as a transformative solution. In the face of intensifying social polarization, identity-based conflicts, humanitarian crises, and ongoing global disruptions, religion is called upon to move beyond its normative boundaries and actively contribute to addressing real-world challenges. It must function as a dynamic force that promotes compassion, fosters meaningful dialogue, and advances sustainable peace.

This international conference aims to provide a strategic academic platform that brings together scholars, practitioners, and thought leaders from diverse disciplines and global contexts. Through interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative inquiry, participants are invited to explore innovative frameworks and practical approaches to da’wah that are responsive to contemporary realities. Emphasis will be placed on developing models of da’wah that are humanistic, inclusive, adaptive, and grounded in ethical responsibility.

By integrating intellectual rigor with global perspectives, this forum seeks to contribute to the formulation of transformative da’wah practices that not only address fragmentation but also strengthen pathways toward harmonious and sustainable global coexistence. In order to further analyse these pressing issues, we are pleased to invite several distinguished plenary speakers who will share their insights and expertise:

Prof. Dr. Frans Wijsen (Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherland)

Shu-Hua Kang, Ph.D. (National Taipei University, Taiwan)
