PERAN PEMUDA DALAM MEMBANGUN BUDAYA LITERASI MASYARAKAT DI ERA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

Youth as a driving agent, agent of change, as well as social control plays an important role in the process of building a nation. Amidst the fact of the lack of literacy skills of the people in Indonesia and coupled with the strength of the covid-19 pandemic that has not ended, then this is where youth as agents have a very vital role in building a culture of community literacy, especially in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic storm.  Therefore, researchers are interested to know how the role of youth in building a culture of community literacy in The Creative House of Wadas Kelir Purwokerto, especially during the pandemicovid-19. The approach and type of research used by researchers is a qualitative approach of the type of case study. Researchers carry out the research process in depth through qualitative descriptive research with this type of case study. This research was conducted at the end of 2020 at Wadas Kelir Purwokerto Creative House. The results of this study: 1) Youth /relwan and innovators have a central role in building a culture of community literacy. 2) Community participation is needed in the success of empowerment programs and building a culture of literacy, 3) Stages of building a culture of community literacy include: a) identification of problems, b) prototype design, c) implementation, d) evaluation, 4) Cooperation from various parties and innovations are needed to create a society, especially the younger generation to be literacy-empowered, and 5) To create a literacy-empowered society it takes a supportive environment, learning facilities and infrastructure are available.
