KARAKTER MASYARAKAT ISLAM SUNDA CIANJUR KINI DAN NANTI

Abstract

The focus is on seeing the spirit of Islam in Sundanese, especially in Cianjur Regency, which makes its people have a more attractive Islamic character as illustrated in their participation in various defenses of religious issues such as the 212 action, the movement of women who support the opposition who are very fanatical and enthusiastic about attending ta'lim assemblies like Mamah Dedeh or regular recitations in the environment. This paper will look at the extent of the character of the Sundanese Muslim community and the factors that influence it and see the sustainability of this character in the future. This is a qualitative descriptive research that discusses the character of the Sundanese people. It is written with data obtained from references and literature, and uses the structural functionalism theory of Talcott Parsons and Robert Merton as a perspective on the problem. The results of this study show that the Sundanese Muslim community is divided into three major camps. First, the Sundanese Muslim community which is very religious, applies Sundanese and Islamic philosophical values ??in life, because they have a high education. Second, the radical and fanatical Sundanese Muslim community, because they are unable to open up to their surroundings. Third, the Sundanese Muslim community does not receive a good education, thus giving birth to the Sundanese Muslim community who are just following along or even mediocre.
