Abstract
This study explores the dynamics of Qur’anic exegesis in the digital era with a focus on the use of digital tafsir applications. Digital transformation has reshaped how Muslims access, study, and understand tafsir by providing convenient access to classical and contemporary exegetical works through platforms such as Quran.com, TafsirWeb, and Quran Explorer. Employing a qualitative descriptive method that integrates literature review and interviews with users and experts in Qur’anic exegesis, this research identifies the significant benefits of digital applications, including enhanced accessibility, search efficiency, democratization of exegetical knowledge, and multimedia support that facilitates the comprehension of complex concepts. However, the study also reveals several challenges, such as issues of source validity, the potential for superficial interpretation without scholarly guidance, technological limitations, and insufficient integration with the traditional scholarly heritage of tafsir. The findings underscore the need for developing credible, interactive, and adaptive digital tafsir applications that involve scholars and academic institutions to guarantee exegetical quality, improve Qur’anic literacy, and support Islamic education in the digital era. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the integration of technology and scholarly tradition in contemporary Qur’anic studies.
