Abstract
The Belangiran tradition is a ritual observed by the Lampung people during the month of Ramadan. This tradition not only has cultural value but also religious significance. However, the meaning of local wisdom and the Belangiran tradition has begun to shift, with the younger generation tending to view Belangiran as merely a ceremonial practice without understanding its religious and social values. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process, meaning, and values of religious moderation inherent in the Belangiran tradition. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study approach. This study used observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review as data collection techniques. The results indicate that the Belangiran tradition is intended to cleanse oneself of negative or harmful elements and to foster spiritual readiness for the holy month of Ramadan. This study contributes to an understanding of how local traditions can strengthen the value of religious moderation and serve as a forum for social interaction, reflecting the Lampungnese philosophy of life, Piil Pesenggiri.
