Abstract
This study aims to examine children's emotional development in depth. Emotional development is often considered a minor aspect that receives little attention from most parents, yet it plays a crucial role in shaping how a child responds to various life situations later in life. Through a qualitative approach involving conversations with parents and children, this study seeks to understand how attention given during early childhood can shape stable and manageable positive emotions. The research process demonstrates that children actually have the ability to understand and express their feelings independently. However, at certain ages, emotional expression is not yet fully mature, requiring appropriate guidance from adults. There are various moments when children feel fear or sadness, and simple actions from adults are often enough to help them regain their composure. These findings demonstrate that early emotional investment is a crucial factor in maintaining children's mental health. The research confirms that small gestures, warm communication, and a non-judgmental environment are the main foundations for positive emotional development. This research is expected to raise awareness, especially among parents and educators, that efforts to build children's mental health do not always require complex methods. Instead, sensitivity and genuine attention from adults, along with support from those closest to them, play a significant role.
