Abstract

This article discusses the role and presence of the Quran and Hadith in influencing the representation of women on TikTok social media. In the emerging digital era, social media has become the main platform where women can share their experiences, express themselves, and build their online personal identity. However, the influence of the Quran and Hadith in this context has not been widely studied. This article aims to fill the knowledge gap by exploring the relationship between the Quran and Hadith with the portrayal of women on TikTok. Through a qualitative research approach, the author investigates the Quran and Hadith used in TikTok content relating to women. A wide range of content covering themes such as women's leadership, women's rights, and gender roles was analyzed. The results of this study reveal that there are several forms of relationships that occur between the Quran, Hadith, and women on TikTok including some female accounts that provide encouragement as well as a source of motivation for their followers, some that show a philanthropic face that cares about the needs of others, and some female accounts that provide spiritual empowerment and religious knowledge to others thus making social media an effective tool for spreading religious messages. This article offers a deeper insights into the complex relationship between the Quran and Hadith with women on TikTok social media. The implications of this research can serve as a groundwork for the development of more inclusive content, promoting an accurate understanding of the role of women in Islam, and promoting dialogue and critical thinking in a digital society.
