Religiosity Values in Sandaran Hati Song Lyrics by Letto and Viewers Response on Youtube

Abstract

In era of the 2000s began to appear several bands that are pop,malay,and rock like Kotak,ST12,Peterpan,Ungu,Letto and many more. Usually they competed to make religious albums when the month of Ramadhan arrived. Different from other band, Letto did not make religious albums when Ramadhan arrived with reason first there is Letto song that is not religious. Second Letto personnel were not sure whether making religious albums was utilizing Ramadhan or indeed intending to get closer to God because of this uncertainty, Letto did not make a religious album when Ramadhan arrived.

Of the many Letto songs the author chose the song Sandaran Hati because many say the Sandaran Hati song implies religious and the lyrics describe someone who is praying fervently every day until finally he realizes there is no need to be sad when we know there is a place to lean God when sad or happy are reflected in the lyrics Sedihku ini tak ada arti jika Kaulah Sandaran Hati.

Based on the reasons above several questions appeared first when is the song Sandaran Hati said to be religious? Second, who has the authority to say that the song Sandaran Hati is religious? Third, does public space influence the emergence of religiosity? Fouth, how do viewers on Youtube build the religiosity image of the Sandaran Hati song?.

After doing further research the author concluded that there is no Letto song that is not religious, then the one who has the authority to say that song Sandaran Hati is a religious song is the vocalist, the public space greatly influences the religiosity of Sandaran Hati songs, from viewers comments on Youtube it appears that they interpreting Sandaran Hati songs as religious songs. The viewers build the religiosity image of the Sandaran Hati song by interpreting the song lyrics Teringat ku teringat pada janji-Mu ku terikat hanya sekejap ku berdiri ku lakukan sepenuh hati as a description of someone who is praying fervently.
