Opportunities and Challenges of Religion and Religiosity in the Era of Disruption

Abstract

As we know in this digital era all are changed. Seen on the overview of shifting era, we can see the friction of the era. From the era of agricultural, industrialization, information technology and then come to science era. And now, we stand on the science era, which come together with digital era, known by its superiority that is gadget control and Information-Communication Technology. By its superiority, may bring to the progress in the world without shocks. But in this era, we can see and find the shocks, so then it is called by disruption era. The disruption appears subtly, so that, strike our awareness. Come into the disruption era, we can see the shocks from all sides, there are politics, economy, social, industry, media, education, etc. No doubt, by the sophistication of Information-Communication Technology, brings to the so-many issues in all sides. Beside of that, known, that inside of the era, there are so-many aspects, which play a role as an actor of that era. And here, we focus our sight in the aspect of religion and religiosity as an actor of disruption era.  As we know that the overview to describe the religion is so-many. So then, we have to start from the same point, to take and understand easily, the religion and religiosity position in the disruption era. Religion as a doctrine used for the way of life and religiosity is the attitude inside the religion. From this view, this paper tries to focus in how the religion and religiosity stand correctly to become the way of life in disruption era, which comes with its so-many issues. So then, by using the method of comparative explanation, to compare one issue to another issue, to see the role of religion and religiosity in disruption era, is one of approach to show that religion and religiosity can stand correctly in answer the challenges in the disruption era.
