Abstract

Islam is the dominant religion believed by the people of Indonesia. Therefore, Islamic values ??have been reflected in the life of Indonesian people. So, the dynamic context of Muslim life is an interesting subject of study in the present era. It cannot be denied that Islam is faced with global phenomena such as globalization and westernization through various lines (one of which is mass media) and the expansion of capitalism. It had become a concern because it would lead to secularization in the community.

In the wave of westernization, the existence of Islam actually stretched on the screen. It can be seen from the television programs. If in the past Islamic programs were only massive on the momentum of Ramadhan with models of dakwah and cinema series of religion, now Islamic programs have flooded the screen without looking at the momentum of Ramadan. In addition, religious shows are also not only related to da'wah but have also targeted lifestyle. The lifestyle that is most highlighted by television is fashion and traveling. Fashion and Traveling are a manifestation of current trends in society (such as My Trip My Adventure on Trans TV). Then, it was packaged by other television channel with a more Islamic concept, given that Islamization was also strengthening. There were two programs that were studied in this case, namely Hijab Travel which was aired on Trans 7 and Muslimah Traveler which was aired on Net TV. The programs present references on trips abroad, halal culinary, and Muslim fashion trends.

The reality above shows that the trend of Islam has experienced dynamics, especially in Television. Previously, Islamic programs on television were more related to morals (akhlaq) but now it had been transformed in the context of the current Islamic lifestyle. There are two ambivalence regarding the representation of Islam in both programs. Islamic identity is strong in people's life, but on the other hand, it represents that Islam is superficially understood so that it tends to show its hedonic side such as fashion and lifestyle.
