Abstract

Gender issues are actual issues to date. In modern society, the 21st century has lost extraordinary values, especially regarding women's rights. There is a distinct impression in every case that handles violations. women do not get attention so many women are victims of cases in public spaces. Islam as rahmatan lil Alamin positions women in a noble place. There is no dichotomy and role discrimination between men and women. The Qur'an teaches the position of believers both men and women before God, therefore they must obtain the same status in the eyes of God, and both have been declared equal to obtain the grace of God. While women do not have the right attention to the threat of freedom. One of them is in visual media. Representation of women who play a role in visual media has appeared to discriminate between them. Then came what is called gender inequality as evidence that modern society is not paying attention to women's role. So in this context an important question arises, is there any role discrimination for women in the media? In fact, ignoring women and not involving them in activities that are beneficial to society means throwing away at least half of the potential of the community. This must be an evaluation, inspiration and motivation for the translator of the Qur'an to formulate interpretation products that have perspectives on the real role of women. The method used is thematic-contextual interpretative approach, to get a complete and comprehensive picture of the meaning that is relevant and actual for the contemporary context related to gender relations. Thus, this finding rebuilt the role of women in the Qur'an and hadith.
