Application of the Project-Based Learning Model to Maharah Kalam Students in the Independent Curriculum Era

This article aims to describe objectively the application of speaking learning using the project
based learning model in learning Arabic for class X-1 students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1
Medan. This research involves the development and implementation of Arabic language-based
projects designed to stimulate creativity, active involvement, and speaking ability in Arabic in
line with the goal of developing an independent curriculum that is more oriented towards student
independence and empowerment. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive
approach, the data source of this research is the research object, where the object of this research
is class X-1 students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Medan, the data collection methods of this
research are observation, interviews, and documentation. This article provides practical insights
for Arabic language educators who wish to integrate the Project-Based Learning approach into
the independent curriculum, with the hope of making a positive contribution to the development
of students' Arabic speaking skills.
