The Utilization of Modern Digital Technologies in Overcoming Challenges in Teaching Classical Examples of Tasybih

Abstract

Classical examples of Tashbih pose a significant challenge for non-Arabic speakers due to their diverse vocabulary, complex structures, and unfamiliar imagery. This challenge has become a learning obstacle for non-native Arabic speakers. However, modern digital technologies can be utilized to digitize these materials, presenting classical examples of Tashbih in an engaging and interactive manner that addresses these educational challenges. This study focuses on analyzing the outcomes of leveraging modern digital technologies as an educational tool for learning classical Tashbih in ways that align with the needs and preferences of learners. It is a rhetorical-educational field study employing a qualitative descriptive methodology. Data was collected through an experimental study conducted in a virtual classroom, a focused discussion session, and pre- and post-tests. The collected data was analyzed using an interactive, source-based method consisting of three steps: simplification, presentation, and conclusion. The results highlight that digitizing classical Tashbih examples positively impacts learners’ comprehension of Tashbih concepts, enhances their motivation to learn, and helps them develop the ability to generate and renew Tashbih in alignment with their cultural level. These findings are hoped to inspire teachers and educational institutions to develop rhetoric learning materials in an interactive pedagogical manner that meets the needs of the digital generation while preserving the artistic value of Arabic literature and linguistic styles.
