Resolving Conflicts between Chinese and Islam

Abstract

Every religion merely provokes peace. In fact, the conflicts still frequently occurred. Likewise in Indonesia, the conflict between Chinese and indigenous ethnics once took place and apparently the sarcastic issues against Chinese ethnic seem intentionally recalled. However, Chinese ethnic holds Confucian values while the Indonesian whose major population is Muslim own Quran with its fundamental principles of every deed. This research is to figure out how the conflict once took place between Chinese and the indigenous ethnics and the recent issues which are willing to emerge. Then, it is important to find out the meeting point between of both teachings, Confucianism and Islam. The research is descriptive qualitative while the approach is historic normative. The data were collected through documentation and interview. The attempt to meet Islamic values from Quran and Confucianism can be one of the conflict resolution options between of both ethnics. Quran and Confucianism teaching introduce the peace values. Thus, religion can be such a solution on the emerging conflict to live peacefully.
